Seattle's Requiem For A Dream
I moved to Seattle
a few years ago
14 of them in fact
It seems like only yesterday
when I arrived
on an Amtrack Train
with my skateboard
and mountain bike
as if I was still
in my early youth.
I moved to Capitol Hill
the artistic gay area of seattle
where all the cool
music clubs use to be.
The punk rockers and
the queer people of all
sub-genres get along like
peanut butter and chocolate.
It is always so.
Seeing as I am both an
artistic punk rocker
and a queer
of all subgenres
Capitol Hill was
the place to be
for someone as
alternative as me.
But little did I know
that this excursion to seattle
would be a
requiem for a dream
a fly ball to center field
when you dont know
if the ball will be
a homerun or not.
A holding pattern of
love and regret,
sobriety and relapse.
For if your a heroin addict
Seattle is not a good place to be
That is an understatement
for someone like me.
